Spring is here and symbolic insight is gaining momentum for some exciting events over the next few months. This months live event is textures on April 11 at Gypsy House and watch for the Denver Noise Fest on April 30/May 1. We are in the process of finalizing the transistor festival schedule which features ad.noiseam artist, end.user (Belgium) headlining on June 12. In addition to more than 40 eclectic
electronic acts over the weekend, transistor festival is pleased to be offering a circuit bending workshop with JanedaPain, read more below.

Sunday, April 11, textures presents, a Denver Noise Fest benefit featuring live performances from Zoologist & guests at Gypsy House cafe, 1279 Marion St. Denver. The first Denver Noise Fest will showcase symbolic insight artists bios+a+ic & bahiya as, usA (unbridled sonic Anarchy), on Fri, April 30 with numerous acts (50+) from all over the country. Presented by swamp of pus quality media & backwards records, this festival weekend (April 30, May 1) of noise will solidify Denver as one of the worlds premiere cities for modern avant noise music. symbolic insight presents the fourth annual transistor electronic sound art festival, June 11 & 12 at Old Curtis St. Bar, and on June 13 at the Gypsy House Cafe in Denver, CO. International electronic act, end.user (Adnoiseam / Hymen), will headline the festival on Saturday, just returning from a European tour. In addition, there are also over 40 acts performing at this years weekend events representing numerous styles of modern electronic music & sounds. Many favorite acts will be returning, as well as new projects from all over Colorado and beyond, like Flesh-Like from Ireland. http://transistorfestival.com

transistor festival presents, a circuit bending workshop with JanedaPain
It will take place on Saturday, June 12 from 5 until 7 p.m. followed by an hour long performance at this years festival featuring the students newly bent items. This class is limited to 10 students and cost $30 each. Bring your own electronic instrument or toy to modify, additional supplies will be provided. This workshop will take place on the garage stage at the Old Curtis St. Bar, 2100 Curtis St. before the nights events. Yesterdays toys and discarded electronics are hacked, modified, and 'bent' (act of random short-circuiting) into low-voltage battery powered musical instruments. Experimental re-appropriated lo-fi, antique digital items for manipulation during live performances. This class explores the theory and practice of circuit bending, while challenging the students to create their own circuit bent toys to use in sound art or performance. Students learn basic electronics skills while gaining practical experience in 'Do it Yourself' (DIY) culture.
